On Friday night several friends and I went to a nearby beach area to see the biggest full moon of the year. The moon at it’s Perigee, yesterday, was 30% brighter and visually 15% larger than typical of a full moon. This is because the elliptical orbit of the moon brings it 50,000 km closer once per year.
